It is a server monitoring program using TCP/IP. It can monitor via Ping, HTTP, FTP or any other TCP/IP port. It will log all status changes and can also run programs or send email on each status change. Straight forward monitoring. Most network admins and/or software developers that are responsible for maintaining servers/server applications want to know if it's up, down or slow. Everything else is extra. These are their core concerns, and this it what Third Watch gives them at a reasonable price. I have found this utility very useful and I believe you will too. It has saved us from network outages several times. It's nice to know your server or application is down before you customers/employees do and get it back up before they notice.
